ALL WE NEED IS JUST A LITTLE PATIENCE
Edito The Chai r of the US Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, reiterated last Thursday the Fed can (and will) be patient and flexible, able to wait before moving ahead with a rate policy decision. Taking into consideration the current stable inflationary backdrop, “patience†seems to be the Fed 2019’s new motto. Putting forward the idea that the US economy is closer to the end of a cycle, it could mean putting on hold any rate action in Q1-2019. Next week, we will pay close attention to a historic vote by the British parliament on January 15 and to Greece’s rating review by S&P on Friday, January 18 .
