Are oil and gas companies having a financing problem?
Many investors and banks are trying to favour "green" investments and financing, using ESG criteria to select their assets. Has this already had an impact on oil and gas companies? First, demand for these companies’ shares may fall ; when we look at their share prices, taking into account the trend in oil and gas prices, we see that there is indeed an abnormal weakness in these share prices, which reflects investor disaffection ; Second, these companies may have difficulties in financing their investments, when we look at the level of these investments, taking into account the price of oil and gas, we see that these investments are normal: the switch by investors and banks into green investments and financing has not yet reduced investments in oil and gas.
