Are the French suffering from globalisation?

It is generally accepted in France that the French have suffered heavily from globalisation. But is that really so ? We look at: The skewing of the structure of jobs and the factory job losses; what proportion can be blamed on globalisation? The inequality and poverty; The generosity of social welfare; Whether tax competition lead s to decline in the tax burden that imposes a reduction in public spending ; The trend in wages. All things considered, we see that the only negative effects of globa lisation in France are a (quite small) increase in inequality and manufacturing job losses (around 30% of the total). The other negative effects (on poverty, public spending and social welfare, wages) do not appear .
