As was predictable, global monetary policy is becoming procyclical
The global economy is going to see a slowdown in its growth, which could be amplified by rising uncertainty and risk aversion. Just when this slowdown is starting, global monetary policy is becoming less expansionary ( interest-rate hikes, slowdown in liquidity), and is therefore becoming procyclical . This was unfortunately to be feared, since a very expansionary global monetary policy was maintained very late in the cycle.
