Bursting of the tech bubble in the United States: What effects?
The " dotcom bubble" in equity markets in the late 1990s burst in 2000 in the United States and this bursting of the bubble trigger ed a recession in the United States, but also in other countries. The question is whether there is now once again a "tech bubble" in the United States. To predict the effects of its possible bursting, it is useful to return to the bursting of the similar bubble in 2000, and to examine the channels (wealth effects, contagion between equity markets, foreign trade , etc. ) through which it triggered a global recession.
