Closing in on the European elections

It is only 2 more weeks to go until the European elections and there is still some uncertainty with respect to which party alliances will be formed . The fact that the United Kingdom will take part in these elections, a decision only just recently confirmed , complicates an already fragmented European political landscape even more. The Eurosceptic parties will , based on the latest polls, increase their representation in the new European Parliament, but it seems very unlikely that they will be able to obtain a majority of seats . In this paper, we look at the recent developments in the polls in the four main Eurozone economies as well as in the United Kingdom and the associated seat predictions .
