Could India be the driving force of the global economy?

Given the catching-up potential in terms of productivity and demographics, India is likely to become the driver of the global economy, while China will be negatively affected by population ageing. But is it possible that India could be the future driver of the global economy? India's disadvantages are well known: Insufficient infrastructure; Low average level of education; The shortfall in savings, resulting in external debt and currency crisis; Internal religious tensions and geopolitical tensions with neighbours. Moreover, India remains a quite closed economy, whose even strong growth has little impact on the rest of the world.
