Decrease in the international mobility of labour and goods: What consequences?

The persistence of the COVID crisis is resulting in a decline in the international mobility of: Labour (it is becoming difficult to travel from one country to another); Goods and services (given economic nationalism and reshoring). What happens when the international mobility of labour and goods declines and we return to a more autarkic economy? A significant loss of well-being is incurred: Job vacancies in one country cannot be filled by workers from other countries; Global trade no longer allows different countries' comparative advantages or differences in production costs between countries to be exploited.
