Does company creation (start-ups) lead to a more vigorous economy? The answer is no

The intensity of company creation in some countries (for example in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, etc.) is often positively emphasised. A high number of company start-ups is usually associated with considerable job creation and rapid technological progress. But is that really the case? Unemployment is mainly accounted for by unemployment among unskilled people, which casts a doubt on the ability of new technology start-ups to significantly reduce unemployment. When we compare OECD countries, we see that a large number of company start-ups ( in relation to the population) is not associated with a high employment rate or a low unemployment rate or high productivity gains.
