Euro area: disinflation gains momentum
Euro area headline inflation came in at -0.3%yoy in September, while core inflation recorded another decline to +0.2% after +0.4%. Temporary factors can partly explain the big drop in inflation seen over the last couple of months. But economic weakness and declining pricing power are also now affecting inflation in a substantial way.
