Euro Area inflation: small improvement in December
The Euro Area flash estimate for headline inflation has increased from 1% in November 2019 to 1.3% in December 2019. The core inflation index, excluding energy and unprocessed food moved sideways to 1.4% YoY ( Chart 2 ). Even if the core inflation level reache d its highest value of the year (also reached in April and November), it remains below the ECB’s target.
