Euro zone: a gloomy end to 2023 in the north, brighter in the south
The initial estimate of euro area GDP for Q4 2023 was slightly better than expected. With zero growth, the euro zone technically avoids a recession. By country, the results are “ di verse” , with good figures in Spain and Italy and poor figures in France and Germany.
