Euro zone: Towards a new wave of manufacturing job losses?

We fear that the euro zone is now facing a new wave of manufacturing job losses as a result of: The stagnation of global demand for industrial products and the slowdown in global trade; The effects of the energy transition on certain industries: automotive, chemicals, energy; The effects of the stagnation of industrial production on investment needs and production of capital goods. As this further loss of manufacturing jobs is likely, governments in euro-zone countries should react now: policies to re-skill and redeploy employees that may lose their jobs, increased investment in renewable energies and new technologies related to the energy transition, in order to create as many new jobs as possible.
