European capitalism and European investors

Many voices are calling for the emergence of a European (continental) capitalism that differ s from Anglo-Saxon capitalism. Under this different continental European capitalism, income and risk would be shared reasonably between employees and shareholders, and employees would participate in companies’ strategic decision-making . But two conditions must be met for it to be able to exist: E uro-zone equity investors must be sufficient in number so that euro-zone companies do not end up being owned by Anglo-Saxon investors; Euro-zone equity investors must behave differently to Anglo-Saxon investors and accept a lower and riskier return on equity and an increased role for employees in companies’ decisions.
