There are reasons to be concerned about the risk that populist political parties may come to power in France - as in many OECD countries - because of a number of factors and mechanisms in the economic area that may lead to populist voting : The weak growth in purchasing power, the high level of the tax burden; The deterioration in the quality of jobs and the high level of structural unemployment; particularly for young people; The deindustrialisation; The growing gap of standard of living between the major population centres and rural areas.
