France: Olympic growth?
French GDP growth should benefit from an “Olympic Games” effect in the 3 rd quarter and be around +0.4% QoQ , with additional growth of around +0.25 pp linked to the Olympic s . Ticket sales and broadcasting rights are recorded in the quarter in which the event takes place, i.e. in the 3 rd quarter. This positive effect related to the Olympic Games is nevertheless temporary, with a backlash of a similar magnitude to be expected in the 4 th quarter. For 2024 as a whole, French growth is expected to come in at 1.3%, benefiting from a solid start to the year. The effect of the Olympic Games should be around +0.1 pp.
