FRENCH INFLATION AT 1.3% IN APRIL

French inflation (CPI) in creased from 1.1% YoY in March to + 1 . 3 % in April , slightly more than expected ( 1. 2 % ) due to an upward revision of the services prices . French consumer prices rose only by 0.3% MoM in April after 0. 8 % in March , as the prices’ slowdown of manufactured products ( 0. 1 % M oM) and of energy ( 0. 6 % M oM) offset the acceleration of services prices ( 0. 5 % M oM) and of food prices ( 0. 1 % M oM) . Outlook : After +1 .8% in 2017 on average, French inflation (CPI) is expected to remain moderate at +1. 1 % in 2019 , mainly thanks to lower oil prices , but also due to the tax freeze on fuel for the whole of 2019 and on electricity and gas until the summer as granted to t he yellow vest s.
