FRENCH INFLATION AT 2.3% IN AUGUST STILL OVER 2%
Boosted by higher oil prices and tax increases on energy and tobacco , French inflation (CPI) increased by 2. 3 % YoY in August . French consumer prices increased by 0.5% MoM in August (vs - 0. 1 % in July ) , mainly due to the seasonal rebound of prices in manufactured product s (1,1% MoM ) after the summer sales, while the energy component remained almost stable . Outlook : After 1% in 2017 on average, French inflation (CPI) should strongl y increase, reaching on average 1. 9 % in 2018 and 1.8% i n 2019.
