French inflation stabilized in April but data incomplete
French inflation (CPI) stabilized on a monthly basis in April and continued to decelerate to + 0.3% YoY . The coronavirus crisis and the lockdown measures brought down the oil prices, which were partially offset by a sharp increase in food prices, particularly fresh products and vegetables. Finally, the statistical office stipulates t he difficulty of producing reliable statistics in the absence of records in the points of sale, counting on March 16 (because of the containment measures in France) . Overall, we expect inflationary pressures to come back from 2021 onwards.
