French legislative elections: still an uncertain outcome

The first round of French parliamentary elections was held last Sunday, June 12. T he results were more or less in line with prior surveys and President Macro n ’s Ensemble coalition finds itself neck and neck with the left wing NUPES list. The second round held this Sunday, June 19 . At this stage, a loss of its relative majority looks unlikely for the presidential group and the probability of a cohabitation remains very low. That said, it also looks unlikely that the president’s coalition Ensemble will keep its absolute majority .
