German Q1 GDP: Strength across the board

The details of German first quarter GDP were released this morning, showing domestic and foreign demand driving growth of the German economy at the beginning of the year. Although German demand components are quite volatile, the strength of private consumption and investment spending are clearly reassuring a t this point . As the external environment is likely to darken again going forward , the domestic side will provide some buffer to compensate for potential weaker export growth.
