How can we determine which countries will suffer the most from the COVID crisis in the medium term?

We believe the COVID crisis will lead to lasting problems in a number of business sectors: For some sectors, due to weak demand (automotive, capital goods, aeronautics, commercial real estate, traditional retail, air transport, tourism, oil and gas); For other sectors, due to the loss of productivity caused by the new health standards (construction, traditional retail, restaurants). We are therefore looking at the weight of these sectors in the economies of the major OECD countries to see which countries will be most negatively affected by this crisis in the medium term. These are countries where the weights of the capital goods and transport equipment industry or the mining industry are high, and where tourism and construction, which often go together, are important: Mexico, Canada, Spain, Austria, Japan, Turkey, Poland, Australia .
