Ifo German Business index drops in January
The Ifo business climate index falls below 100 (99.1) in January (vs December level of 101). The significant drop of the index reflects deterioration in business expectations , while current conditions were only marginally down. Th e rise in business conditions is broadly consistent with yesterday’s German composite PMI rebound . Nonetheless , a drop in “expectations†reveals negative sentiment for 2019.
