In France, the most serious problem by far is the low level of labour force skills

When comparing OECD countries, we see that low labour force skills are associated with: Poor quality of the education system; A low level of automation; A small industry; Difficulties with (industrial) foreign trade; A low employment rate and a high structural unemployment rate; Low productivity gains; High income inequalities before redistribution. This shows that the low labour force skills in France may explain the majority of the French economy’s serious structural problems.
