In which countries has inflation remained low, and why?
Inflation has remained significantly lower than in other countries in: China; Japan; Switzerland; Saudi Arabia; Malaysia; The United Arab Emirates; Vietnam. There are three explanations for this low level of inflation in these countries: Weak activity (China ); Weak reaction of wages to inflation (Japan, Switzerland ); The fact that the country is an oil producer (Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam) and has followed the dollar in the appreciation of its exchange rate.
