Is France doing better than five years ago?

Instead of passing judgment on the reforms that have been implemented (taxation, vocational training, unemployment benefits, support for marginalised young people, education, labour market, etc.), we examine whether France is objectively doing better than five years ago when it comes to: The labour market and employment; The situation of young people and the education system; Productivity gains and potential growth; Supply c apacity for goods and services, in particular for industrial products, and therefore foreign trade; Corporate investment and modernisation; Government efficiency; Household purchasing power; Inequality and poverty; The financial situation of companies. We find improvement with regard to the employment rate and the participation rate, purchasing power and the financial situation of companies, but deterioration with regard to the situation of industry and inequality and poverty; the other criteria are stable.
