Is it possible for the dollar to lose its dominant reserve currency status?

We can first seek to identify the reasons that would lead some countries to no longer want to hold their foreign exchange reserves in dollars: concern about the United States’ solvency, reaction to protectionism or the sanctions applied by the United States. But we can also consider the possibility of a change to its dominant reserve currency status : Which currencies could replace the dollar? The euro-zone financial market is segmented, the Chinese financial market is not sufficiently developed; Who would trigger the massive movements in financial markets (interest rates, exchange rates) that would result from international investors switching from assets in dollars to assets in other currencies?
