Is the employability of the French improving?

A number of reforms (vocational training, apprenticeships, programmes targeting struggling young people, etc.) may have improved the employability of young people in France and the French labour force as a whole. Are there actual signs of an improvement in employability? When we look at in France: The employment rate and the participation rate; The long-term unemployment rate; The youth unemployment rate and the proportion of NEETs; Companies’ hiring difficulties, we see: Positive signs: rising employment and participation rates and declining long-term unemployment, youth unemployment and proportion of NEETs; But major hiring difficulties related to skills and attitude problems remain.
