Is the rise in long-term interest rates a concern?
L ong-term interest rates have started to rise since the summer of 2020 . 10-year interest rates have risen from 0.6% to 1. 6 % in the United States, from -0.6% to -0.3% in Germany and from -0.4% to 0. 05 % in France. Some observe r s are concerned at this rise in long-term interest rates: does it pose a threat to economies and financial market valuations ? We do not believe so : this rise in long-term interest rates is not dangerous, and may even be good news for several reasons.
