Is there a risk of inflation picking up again in the United States and the euro zone?
The consensus is that inflation in the United States and the euro zone will continue to fall. Is there a risk that, on the contrary, inflation will pick up again? This could be the result of: A continued sharp rise in service prices; In the United States, a continued sharp increase in rents (both actual and imputed to homeowners); In the euro zone, a continued sharp rise in unit labour costs. Accordingly, it is not certain that inflation will continue to fall.
