It is a fantasy to think that reindustrialisation can take place without raising science skills among the population

Many countries want to reindustrialise in the wake of COVID and with a view to the energy transition. G overnments are therefore support ing new industrial sectors and lower ing certain taxes. But here we show that deindustrialisation is strongly linked to the skills of the population, especially science skills. Without raising science skills, which can take many years, it is difficult to imagine real reindustrialisation taking place.
