It is possible to have both left-wing and liberal criticism of contemporary capitalism
It can be said that contemporary capitalism is unanimously opposed since it can attract both left-wing and liberal criticism: Criticism from the left relates to the skewing of income distribution against wage earners, the increase in poverty, income and wealth inequalities, excess offshoring and therefore manufacturing job losses, and tax competition; Liberal criticism relates to corporate concentration and the obtaining of rents from dominant positions, the increased role of governments (weight of public spending and the tax burden, increase in public debt, intervention in strategic choices of innovation and investment, protectionism), and distortions in financial markets caused by ultra-expansionary monetary policies.
