Labour markets in OECD countries: It is important to differentiate between three issues
To correctly analyse the situation of labour markets in OECD countries, we must draw a distinction between three issues: The skewing of the structure of jobs towards low-productive, low-quality jobs ( due to polarisation); this skewing contributes to a slowdown in productivity, but not to a skewing of income distribution; The skewing of income distribution, which contributes to increase d inequality, and which can be related to the very high level of return on equity for shareholders; The skewing of risk sharing; employees have to carry a growing part of the economic or corporate risks, but are not remunerated for this risk-taking.
