New waves, a new normal?

Edito A surprising good US job market report last Friday and the Fed’s reassurance of its commitment to use full range of tools “for as long as it takes” were not enough to reassure markets. The Fed’s rather gloomy economic outlook along with 1.5million people filing for jobless benefits last week and fears of a second wave of infections in the US triggered a risk-off sentiment. Consequently, stock markets sold off globally. Markets will stay wary and vulnerable to new Covid19 cases and slow recovery in the job market s . New waves of infections could potentially become a new normal if the further loosening of containment measures leads to a rise in new infections again…
