Potential growth: Due to population ageing, will all OECD countries have very low potential growth in the future, like Italy?

A decline in productivity gains is a trend common to all OECD countries. Furthermore, population ageing will lead to a decline in the labour force in all the countries except the United States and the United Kingdom. In the future, potential growth will therefore become very low , as is already the case in Italy, due both to low productivity gains and a decline in the labour force in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Japan. This very unencouraging prospect of economic stagnation will be fundamentally due to the fact that population ageing has not been offset by larger productivity gains.
