Should public spending really be hiked in France?
It seems there is a consensus in France that public spending should be increased in a number of areas: Education; Health care ; Justice and police; And even pensions, if the reform requires some offsetting measures . The reasons for these calls for higher public spending are legitimate. Yet a comparison between France and the other euro-zone countries shows higher public spending in France than in the other countries when it comes to healthcare, education and pensions. This raises the question as to whether France’s problem is a lack of resources or rather a lack of organisation.
