The costs of “economic deglobalisation” would be considerable

Many countries ( the United States, large emerging countries) are trying to withdraw from globalisation: protectionism , demands for local production close to consumers . At the end of the day , free trade is supported only by Europe . But it is important to realise that the costs of this deglobalisation are considerable, as the previous globalised organisation of production will have to be undone (segmented value chains will have to be replaced , with production being relocated closer to final buyers). Deglobalisation, sought for example by Donal d Trump, will sharply reduce global growth.
