The implications of Asia’s control of the COVID pandemic for the global economy
The COVID pandemic has been controlled much better in China and east and southeast Asia than in the rest of the world (India, Europe, the Americas). This is paving the way for a stronger and faster economic recovery in 2020-2021 than in the rest of the world. Growth is therefore going to be stronger in Asia, which will accentuate Asia’s attractiveness for companies and offer a compelling argument to not enter into economic conflict with China so as to not lose access to the Chinese market.
