The keys to social stability in France, Spain and Italy
To assess the quality of a country’s economy, one often looks at the development of new technologies, the innovation and corporate modernisation effort and the quality of the higher education system. But even if countries improve across all these criteria, social and political stability requires quite different attributes: the ability to ensure full employment among the low-skilled; the ability to ensure youth employability. France, Spain and Italy are struggling hugely with this last set of criteria.
