Central banks in OECD countries (we look at the United States, the euro zone and Japan) face three pressure s : The absence of inflation, despite a tight labour market; The high level of debt; The decline in potential growth, which exacerbates potential borrower solvency problems. These three pressures are stopp ing central banks from being able to raise their interest rates.
