The United States and the euro zone: A terrible choice
Labour force skills are low in the United States and the euro zone , and this reduces the capacity for creating jobs. The " terrible choice" is therefore as follows: Either, as in the euro zone, accepting a high unemployment rate; Or, as in the United States, keep ing wages low, especially for low-skilled workers, accept ing an increase in inequality and poverty, and obtain ing a low unemployment rate but with poor workers. Unfortunately there is no other possibility for countries in which labour force skills are abnormally low.
