There is reason to be more concerned about the multitude of structural problems in the United States
We most often have a positive view of the United States: growth is strong , structural unemployment is low , the average standard of living is high , large internet companies are developing and the dollar maintains its dominant reserve currency role . Yet, the United States is faced with considerable structural problems: Poor quality of the education system, low labour force skills; Skewing of income distribution at the expense of employees and business-friendly tax policy that ultimately has only led to an increase in companies’ share buybacks; Skewing of the structure of jobs towards low-wage service jobs; Considerable increase in inequality and poverty. We cannot imagine that these trends can continue for a long time.
