Towards a productivity wave?
After the COVID crisis, there may be a “productivity wave” in the United States and the euro zone, due to: Working from home; Companies seeking cost savings and efficiency; The digitalisation of certain activities (retail, leisure, events, etc.). This wave of productivity could be analysed in two ways: Positively, because there would be an increase in potential production. Negatively, because the upswing in employment would be significantly weaker than the recovery in GDP. So there could be a sound economy with social difficulties.
