Unfortunately, France’s deindustrialisation seems inexorable

We fail to see how France ’s deindustrialisation could be halted : Global demand for industrial products is weakening; French industry’s cost competitiveness is not improving; The relative sophistication of French industry is not picking up; Trends in the automotive industry are going to reduce industrial value added; French industry faces significant hiring difficulties. France’s continued deindustrialisation is having the expected negative effects on production, wages and foreign trade.
