United Kingdom : wages keep rising, labour market still tight
In the three month up to October, the UK economy experienced a decade-high wage growth. Regular pay (excluding bonuses) rose by 3.3% y/y in the three months through October. Total pay ( including bonuses ) also increased at a rate of 3. 3 % y/y over this period . Those figures exceed market expectations , confirm the tightness of UK labor market conditions – with unemployment rate remaining at 4.1% – and confirm BoE’s scenario of a robust wage growth trend.
