What accounts for the decline in the US employment rate?

When comparing the United States and the euro zone, we see the sharp decline in the employment rate in the United States. At first sight, there are several possible explanations: low skills, low level of wages at the bottom, reduced geographical mobility, wealth accumulation, retirement age. To choose the right explanation, we need to know why the US employment rate has fallen: what age group, what level of education, etc.? The decline in the employment rate in the United States is accounted for by well-educated men under 55. This leads us to accept the explanation of skills, geographical mobility and wealth accumulation, but not the explanation of wages , which would affect less - educated Americans.
