What if central banks are wrong?

Central banks now have a strategy of maintaining an expansionary monetary policy as long as it is necessary for inflation to return to the level of the inflation target in a stable manner. But could this strategy be wrong? In the short term, there is no significant impact of expansionary monetary policies on core inflation; this leads central banks to keep monetary policies expansionary for a long time; And we then come across the criticism called “neo-Fisherism”: if central banks keep nominal interest rates low for a long time, the Fisher relationship may imply that this leads to persistently low inflation, and not to an upturn in inflation.
