What should the Germans be told?

Public opinion in Germany is increasingly opposed to solidarity policies in Europe, progress towards federalism and immigration. The Germans should therefore be told that: Population ageing in Germany will inevitably lead to a permanent fall in living standards if they do not accept significant immigration; The mercantilist economic model that has benefited them so much is no longer going to be viable due to growing demands for production to be close to the final buyers of goods . Germany will no longer be able to grow by exporting to the rest of the world, and it will need a fast-growing European Union, which would only be possible with the institutional reforms that Germany currently rejects; Freezing the euro zone’s institutions in their current state would inevitably lead to a series of crises and possibly to a breakup of the euro, which would be disastrous for Germany.
