Why do the French not perceive the improvement in the French economy?

The situation of the French economy is objectively improving: rise in employment, fall in unemployment, rise in purchasing power, upturn in industry, decent growth in corporate investment. But public opinion apparently does not perceive this improvement. Why? The French may be concerned at : The nature of the jobs created; Rising real estate prices; W eak growth in wage earners’ purchasing power - even though it is growing - due to weak productivity gains; The fact that the lowest wages are growing less fast than the average wage.
