Without an "Airbus of electric batteries" there will be massive job losses in the European automotive industry

We look at the situation of the automotive industry in the EU-28. Without developing a large-scale European manufacturer of electric batteries, the shift - which is likely to be rapid given the regulatory constraints in Europe – from int ernal combustion cars to electric cars would lead to a GDP loss for the EU-28 that could reach 1.1 percentage point of GDP in the region , with up to a million jobs lost . The "Airbus of electric batteries" is therefore a crucial initiative .
